Welcome to our Year 2 class pages. Here you will find information about our classroom routines and a few snapshots of the wonderful things we do in Year 2.
There are two Year Two classes – 2H and 2BH.
Mrs Hamilton teaches 2H and Miss Brothwood teaches 2BH.
Our Classroom
Reading in Year Two
This year, as part of our reading homework. We will bring our reading books in on our designated reading day. Our reading books are usually changed at least once a week on the designated reading day. An adult should listen to us read every night at home as part of our homework.
Homework in Year Two
This year, we have introduced Homework Grids.
Complete the activities as and when you can and share your homework via Class Dojo – we can’t wait to see what amazing examples can be created!
Every Friday, spellings will be given out on a sheet. The children will practice these spellings every day in class. You should practice these spellings at home. We will have a spelling test every Friday and we will give the results to you the following week.
Each week, the children will take part in a TTRS battle.
2H vs 2B.
These battles will encourage your child to practice their times table skills and rapid recall fluency. If you cannot access your TTRS account, please contact your child’s class teacher.
PE Days in Year Two
PE days will change every half term.
The days will be posted on the class dojo pages. Children need to have the correct PE kits and no football kits should be worn.
