Welcome to Nursery – Where magic happens! Mrs Cooper is the Nursery Teacher and is supported by Mrs Seddon who is the Nursery Nurse.

On this page, you will find information about our routines, policies and a few snapshots of the wonderful things we do throughout the school year. Here at Huyton with Roby, we offer 2 sessions a day.

Morning Session: 8:40am – 11:40am

Afternoon Session: 12:20pm – 3:20pm

In Nursery, we link learning to the children’s interests and aim to develop their knowledge and skills through high quality provision and experiences both inside and outside the classroom.

Learning in Nursery

Take a look at the photographs below for a little insight to our fun learning experiences and activities in Nursery.

Reading in Nursery

Children will bring a library book home to read every Friday to share with their adults. Reading books need to be returned by Thursday at the latest to be changed for the following week. Reading plays an important role in developing your child’s communication and language skills. Regular reading with your child has astonishing benefits; It builds self-esteem, vocabulary, feeds imagination and even improves their sleeping pattern!

Snack in Nursery

In Nursery, we provide a wide variety of nutritious snacks throughout the week, free of charge. All we ask is that your child brings a labelled water bottle into school. If there are any changes in dietary requirements, please make a member of the Nursery team aware as soon as possible.

Learning Outdoors in the Nursery

We spend lots of time learning outdoors in EYFS, whatever the weather! Outdoor learning can enhance education, mental health and wellbeing, nature connection, inclusion and curriculum learning for children. Please ensure your children is dressed appropriately for the different weather conditions and please provide labelled wellington boots for the children to wear and leave in school, but be warned and prepared, being outside is lots and lots of fun so the children may come home dirty, especially during the winter!
