Picture News At Home – 26.05.2022

Picture News this week has concentrated on the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. We have enjoyed finding out all about Her Majesty’s 70 year reign and we have thought about her tremendous attitude towards duty.

As we explored the concept of duty, we discussed the following questions:

What are your duties at school?

What are your duties at home?

Has there ever been a time you did something because you felt it was the right thing to do?

In class-based worship, we looked at a verse from the Bible which fitted in well with our discussion. Matthew 22 records Jesus’ words when asked which commandment is the most important:  ‘Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’

The children shared lots of ideas and thoughts about the ways in which the Queen can provides us with a positive role-model and how we can take our responsibilities seriously too.
