6.5.22 Picture News At Home

This week in our Picture News session we have been thinking about the issue of Free Speech. We found out about Elon Musk and his recent Twitter purchase.

We discussed the following questions:

• How important do you think words are?
• Have you ever said something you wish you could take back? Perhaps when you were feeling angry or upset about something?
• Can you think of a time when words have had the power to damage/hurt you or encourage/enlighten you?

We looked at a verse in the Bible, James Chapter 3 Verse 5, which says: ‘…the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark.’

We all agreed that our words can be very powerful and that we wanted to use them for good.
